Cathouse in Germany: Chronicles from Rock n'Lock Cathouse has landed on German soil, reaching the picturesque setting of Markt Wald to experience the ninth edition of the Rock n'Lock Festival firsthand (I assume we were the only Italian newspaper present at the event...). A curious detail that adds to the festival's charm is its location: the Rock n'Lock takes place right next to the Markt Wald train station on Bahnhofstraße. This proximity gives the event a unique atmosphere—a meeting point that feels almost frozen in time, making the Bavarian scenery where music becomes the true protagonist even more magical. It is no secret that this event has become a staple for those who live and breathe hard rock. Once again this year, the organizational machine proved impeccable: the venue was managed with rare care, ensuring a smooth and pleasant experience despite the logistical challenges an outdoor festival can present. To be honest, the weather was not exactly forgiving, but the marquee set up for the concert was heated. Even though the cold could be felt at first, it only took the first chord struck on stage to melt away every shiver and send the temperature rising. The quality of the bands, as always, confirmed why Rock n'Lock is an unmissable destination. Being able to see acts like Dare and FM live in such a well-organized setting provides emotions that stay with you for a long time. The atmosphere in Markt Wald is unique; there is a sense of community and expertise that is rarely found elsewhere. The day was an incessant succession of emotions, starting with the opening acts Vour and IMKT, who kicked off the festivities before Caroline Breitler brought her energy to the stage. The intensity then built with Galderia, followed by the decisive sounds of CAVE and the grit of Violet. As the day progressed, the atmosphere became increasingly electrifying: Midnite City knew how to warm up the crowd before the arrival of Michael Bormann, whose stage presence paved the way for the heavy hitters of the evening. It was a crescendo of pure melodic rock offered by Dare and FM, bands that managed to enchant the audience with their unmistakable class, turning Markt Wald into the nerve center of European hard rock. The closing of this exciting ninth edition was entrusted to Dynazty, who sealed the event—masterfully managed in every aspect, from logistics to the setlist—with great energy. As we leave Markt Wald, the music continues to echo in our minds, but our thoughts are already cast forward. It is important to mark the date well on the calendar for next year: the festival is preparing to reach the coveted milestone of its tenth edition. It will be a celebratory event, a historic appointment that promises to be even more memorable than the one just concluded, and one that none of us will want to miss.
