Gli Esprit D'Air annunciano il loro attesissimo tour europeo per il 2023-2024. Dopo il successo in vetta alle classifiche del loro ultimo album, "Oceans", gli Esprit D'Air saranno in tournée in tutto il continente in un tour di 22 date in Polonia, Ungheria, Spagna, Regno Unito, Irlanda, Paesi Bassi, Germania, e Belgio. Il tour europeo degli Esprit D'Air inizierà con un breve periodo nell'ottobre 2023, che si estenderà poi da febbraio fino ad aprile 2024. Alla band, guidata dal cantante, polistrumentista e produttore Kai, si unirà una formazione con Jan - Vincent Velazco (Pendragon, Gus G) alla batteria, Takeshi al basso e Yusuke alla chitarra. Il loro ultimo album, "Oceans", che vede la partecipazione di membri dei The Sisters of Mercy e l'ex cantante dei Crystal Lake, è entrato in diverse posizioni nelle classifiche ufficiali del Regno Unito per un certo numero di settimane, tra cui la posizione #5 in Album Downloads, #8 in Rock and Metal Albums e # 19 negli album scozzesi.

Ecco il ritorno al full lenght album degli americani Edge of Paradise, band attiva dal 2011 e con questo “Hologram” giunta al quinto lavoro. Il precedente “The Unknow” aveva letteralmente stregato il sottoscritto e i nostri sono stati indubbiamente nel 2021 tra le migliori uscite discografiche dell'anno. Con impazienza, quindi, aspettavo il seguito ed eccomi qui, in questi primi giorni di luglio, a recensire l'ultima fatica dell'avvenente e brava female vocalist Margarita Monet e compagni. A livello di sound siamo sempre sugli stessi stilemi musicali, un'azzeccata miscela tra heavy metal e industrial con accenni elettro-metal e momenti pomposi dettati da un sapiente uso delle kayboards. Il tutto sempre e comunque prettamente heavy ma beneficiato dall'ugola sempre in ottima forma della bravissima Margarita che riesce a dare più colore ed energia – ma anche sensualità- a certe partiture marcatamente metalliche. Come già detto nella mia precedente recensione la Monet pur non avendo un'ugola à la Maria Brink ( female vocalist degli In This Moment e, in assoluto, tra le cantanti con la voce più bella, versatile e modulabile dell'intero heavy rock world, nda), riesce nella sua “staticità” a creare pathos e dare il giusto appeal in tutte le tracce; molto particolare, nei momenti più lenti, il suo “sospirare” sul microfono, cosa che indubbiamente inietta il brano in questione di sensualità e ammalia l'ascoltatore. Il disco, in definitiva, è un buon prodotto con ottime tracce quali l'incalzante title track, “Dark” o “This is Personal”; forse manca il brano “hit” ma nel contesto “Hologram” scivola via abbastanza bene, egregiamente suonato e con solo una leggera ripetitività nelle tracce. Forse qualche song più “originale” non avrebbe guastato ma credo che per i fans di questa band il prodotto abbia le carte in regola per farsi apprezzare. Non ai livelli del precedente “The Unknow” ma, nel complesso, un valido album.

Oh che bello....ecco il mio secondo “disco per l'estate” (il primo era quello degli Heavens Edge recensiti qualche settimana fa su queste pagine, nda), stiamo parlando del secondo parto discografico dell'eclettico duo formato dalla bravissima vocalist Janet Gardner, conosciuta ai più per essere la leader e vocalist delle seminali Vixen, e dal chitarrista/cantautore/produttore Justin James (Staind, Collective Soul e Tyketto). Questo “No Strings” segue il precedente “Synergy” targato 2020 e porta una ulteriore ventata di freschezza compositiva e tanta energia positiva a ritmo del più classico hard rock venato – a tratti- da tinte blues e puntatine heavy rock. Un risultato d'insieme che rende questo disco un'autentica miccia per le vostre serate estive in compagnia di amici a festeggiare e divertirvi con del sano headbanging e un bel drink dissetante in mano! La linea musicale prende molto da quanto era in auge negli ottanta/primi novanta e si presenta nel migliore dei modi arrangiata e prodotta con meticolosità e intelligenza. Il tutto, però, senza esagerare con iper produzioni che rendono spesso asettico e troppo edulcorato il prodotto ma con, invece, una giusta alternanza tra momenti soft “No Strings”, “Hold On To You” e l'ammaliante semi acustica “She Floats Away” con pezzi di chiara matrice hard quali la pulsante opener “I’m Living Free”, la rocciosa “Turn The Page”, la cadenzata “Into The Night,”, l'ariosa e radiofonica “I’m Not Sorry” e, senza ombra di dubbio, la perla dell'intero disco, “85”. Una autentica rock song marchiata sfacciatamente eighties con un refrain da cardiopalma che amalgama pathos e un suono avvolgente a una interpretazione vocale della nostra female vocalist da dieci e lode. Un album che non si spreca in masturbazioni strumentali o chissà quali trovate ma che si rende onesto e sincero, capace di mostrare il valore ancora altissimo di questi due autentici maestri, Janet e James, ed ha dalla sua la “giusta droga” per farsi ascoltare, ascoltare, riascoltare ...ancora e ancora.... Non perdetevelo, questo “No Strings” deve essere vostro!

All, however, without exaggerating with hyper productions that often make the product aseptic and too sweetened but with, instead, a right alternation between soft moments "No Strings", "Hold On To You" and the bewitching semi-acoustic "She Floats Away” with pieces of clear hard matrix such as the pulsating opener “I'm Living Free”, the rocky “Turn The Page”, the lilting “Into The Night”, the airy and radiophonic “I'm Not Sorry” and , without a shadow of a doubt, the pearl of the entire disc, "85". An authentic rock song blatantly branded eighties with a heart-pounding refrain that amalgamates pathos and an enveloping sound with a vocal interpretation by our top notch female vocalist. An album that is not wasted in instrumental masturbations or who knows what inventions but that is honest and sincere, capable of showing the still very high value of these two authentic masters, Janet and James, and has the "right drug" on its side to be heard , listen, listen ... again and again.... Don't miss it, this “No Strings” must be yours!
